I’ve received this e-mail from Terry Luxton and am
posting it below:-
1 commentYou may not know me Chris, but my name is Terry Luxton and my Father owned the old Golden Fleece Store next to the Pool at 40 Yandilla Street. My brother Ross and I grew up in Pittsworth along with my Sister Maxine.
My Brother and I will turn 50 this year as we are twins. I am sure someone in town will remember us. We both live in the United States now, we were both High school dropouts. Ross went to work at the Pittsworth Butchery and I went to work in the bakery in 1974.
Today Ross is an Airline Pilot for America 3000 and flies an Airbus A320 to Mexico and The Caribbean 4 times a week and I am about to take my Insurance Licence Exam. Not bad for a couple of High school drop outs.
I spent many years in Radio in Australia working for DMG Radio in Townsville , Mt Isa and Roma, and worked for 2 years here in America for the Clear Channel network at 100.5 The Wolf here in Springfield Missouri, also once every two weeks I talk to the ABC in West Australia.
My brother lives in Phillidelphia. We have both been around the world and both worked for the Walt Disney Company doing shows, and Rock Concerts in Europe and God knows what else.
It’s too hard to tell you everything we have done since 1974, but we still remember Pittsworth and always will.
My Sister Judy Hintz is still living in the area – you may know her.
Like I said, it would take forever to tell you everything we have done over the years but it’s been quite a ride since Pittsworth High School and we have done things we have never dreamed we could do.
I would like to leave the young people of Pittsworth a message. Just because you are in a small country town dose not mean you cannot do amazing things with your life. Get out, travel the world, take a chance and do things you never thought you could do. You never know, it just might pay off.
An Aussie saying is Have a go Mate! You just never know (See pic attached) Ross is the guy with the big smile. This is in a pub in St Louis, Missouri. Stick it on your web site if you like, maybe someone will remember us. Give them my E-mail Address – <E-mail Terry Here>
I would love to catch up with some old school mates.
We currently have an Ice storm going on so I gotta go.If you want more on America, just let me know. I would love to talk to you.
Cheers,
Terry Luxton

So the subject of this Blog will be what’s happening in and around Pittsworth and on occasion other subjects of interest.
If you want to contact me please register and leave a comment. Let me know what you have on your mind or if there is something you’d like to have mentioned on the Blog or on air. Perhaps you have some photos you’d like us to see, I’d love to hear from you
